Ocean Entertainment Worldwide, in association with A.J.E. Global Productions, presents eight limited engagement concerts starring Canada's Avery Raquel ~ Live in Concert.
Witness the evolution of one of Canada’s most formidable young musical forces. At just 24 years old, Billboard-charting recording artist and multi-instrumentalist Avery Raquel takes the stage for a mesmerizing live experience that redefines the boundaries of modern soul.
The Slow Motion Tour is a brilliant collision of musical eras. Backed by an elite and accomplished band, Avery seamlessly weaves her deep roots in classic jazz with the sultry, atmospheric textures of contemporary R&B and alternative soul. Having recently returned from Europe after earning her master’s degree from Berklee College of Music, Avery brings a fierce, refined musicianship to the stage. Her multi-octave range—praised as "lustrous, precise, and luminously powerful"—commands the room from the very first note, effortlessly shifting from a whisper to a soaring, emotive roar.
This is a night of honest, vulnerable storytelling packaged in infectious hooks, lush live arrangements, and undeniable Canadian talent. The performance is meticulously paced to highlight Avery’s journey from jazz prodigy to contemporary R&B innovator.
With an intimate, late-night jazz club energy feel, Avery demonstrates her multi-instrumental prowess, trading off between the piano and guitar. This show features jazz-tinged, stripped-back arrangements of her earlier discography, alongside smoky, neo-soul-inspired new material.
Throughout the entire concert the energy builds as her full band takes over, diving into the heart of her celebrated self-titled album. Audiences will experience live, driving renditions of fan favorites like "Helpless", "Please," "You", and 'Nothing More", alongside the critically acclaimed tracks that swept the John Lennon Songwriting Competition.
The show culminates in a wave of lush, modern, ambient grooves. Showcasing her newest material—including "Hard To Stay", "The Letter", and tracks from her Slow Motion EP—Avery leans into atmospheric 80s, rich vocal harmonies, and irresistible, deep R&B pockets that keep the crowd moving.
Avery Raquel has been captivating audiences professionally for over a decade, but this tour marks a profound "rebirth" of her artistry. She possesses a rare, magnetic ability to make a large performing arts center feel like a tight-knit, emotional sanctuary. For anyone who loves the timeless depth of Amy Winehouse, the vocal precision of jazz greats, and the fresh, current edge of modern R&B, this concert is a masterclass in what the future of soul music sounds like.
We welcome you to join us for these unforgettable performances this fall.

"It may not be unusual for someone (anyone) to have been put through life's travails at a fairly young age. But to appear to come out of life's existential angst and write about it in often bleak minor-key introspection and, moreover, to sing about it all in what appears to be a fully formed voice is praiseworthy. This is the kind of stuff that songwriter & vocalist Avery Raquel is made of"
Raul da Gama - WholeNote Magazine
"Avery Raquel is one of the most exciting and dynamic young vocalists I’ve had the chance to work with. Her command of the stage and crowd is nothing short of remarkable, her original material always leaves the crowd wanting more, and she is the consummate professional. This rising star is most DEFINITELY one that I’ll be watching"
Sean Jones – Soul In The City, Toronto, ON Canada

Avery Raquel is a Canadian Alternative Soul artist whose music fuses vintage soul, R&B, jazz, and pop into a modern, emotionally resonant sound. With a voice that defies her age and songwriting that blends vulnerability with maturity, Avery delivers a refreshing take on soul-infused storytelling.
From an early age, Avery’s passion for music was unmistakable. As she began songwriting at age 15, her artistry evolved, and so did her sound – moving from her jazz roots into richer, more personal musical terrain. Her 2017 and 2018 albums (Without A Little Rain and My Heart Away) showcased this transition, earning national airplay and accolades across Canada.
“Her instrument is gorgeous; lustrous, precise, and luminously powerful. Her musicianship is fierce as she digs into the expression of each word of the lyrics she writes and sings.” ~ Raul da Gama, theWholeNote Magazine
In 2020, Avery charted at #30 on Billboard, further displaying her prowess as a passionate songwriter and performer.
Her 2022 self-titled album ‘Avery Raquel’ marked a bold leap into Alternative Soul, characterized by infectious grooves, lush harmonies, and honest lyrics. The album debuted at #5 on the Canadian iTunes Top 200 R&B/Soul chart and featured singles like “Helpless,” “Please,” and “All Up To You.” The album’s success was further cemented when five of its tracks were finalists in the 2022 John Lennon Songwriting Competition across four different categories, with one winning the Grand Prize.
Upon her return from Europe in the Fall of 2024, where she spent a year performing and acquiring her master’s degree in music from Berklee in Valencia, Avery released her new EP ‘Scratching at the Surface’, and more recently her new single ‘Hard To Stay’. These atmospheric tracks blend Soul with subtle Alternative influences, creating a captivating vibe that melds colour into music along with poignant lyrics.
Avery has graced stages across North America and Europe, including renowned music festivals, iconic clubs, and main-stage performing arts centres. She’s been featured on Canadian and US media including CBC radio, Global News, CTV, prominent newspapers and online blogs, has shared stages with artists such as David Clayton-Thomas and Sean Jones, and worked with artists and producers like Tyler Shaw and Christian Lohr (Joss Stone).
Known for her commanding stage presence and genre-blending sound, Avery Raquel is redefining what it means to be a soul artist in the 21st century. With each performance and release, she continues to carve a space that is unmistakably her own — honest, heartfelt, and deeply soulful.
